LSD was outlawed not because it was killing people, but because it opened minds and threatened authority. Alcohol, despite its harms, remained legal because it numbs, distracts, and fuels economies. Imagine if it were the opposite—healing over escape, empathy over violence, communities built on awareness rather than avoidance. The real question: do we choose what benefits us, or what benefits the system?
