The Cross of the Seasons: Fast, Pray, Love 2026

For thousands of years, humanity has looked to the heavens for guidance, wisdom, and alignment. Long before clocks, calendars, and digital reminders, there was a greater clock above us—the movement of the Earth around the Sun.

Within this cosmic dance are four sacred turning points: the Winter Solstice, Vernal Equinox, Summer Solstice, and Autumn Equinox. Together, they form a perfect cross within the yearly cycle, marking the rhythm of life itself.

The Winter Solstice represents the deepest darkness and the birth of returning light.

The Vernal Equinox symbolizes balance and renewal as life awakens from its winter rest.

The Summer Solstice is the height of light, vitality, and solar power.

The Autumn Equinox returns us once again to balance before descending into the inward journey of winter.

These four points create a cross—not merely a religious symbol, but a universal symbol found throughout nature, time, and human consciousness.

The spiritual philosopher Rudolf Steiner often spoke of the relationship between humanity and the cosmic rhythms of the Earth. In some of his depictions of spiritual evolution, he illustrated a figure-eight movement with a cross at its center, symbolizing the meeting point between the earthly and the cosmic, the material and the spiritual.

What happens when we discover this cross within the year?

What do we do when we recognize these four great turning points?

One answer is surprisingly simple:

We pause.

We fast.

We step back from food and allow the body, mind, and spirit to remember their natural rhythm.

This year, the Summer Solstice arrives on Sunday, June 21, 2026—a powerful moment when the Sun reaches its highest point in the sky and daylight is at its peak.

To honor this sacred point in the cycle, we are inviting participants to join a 72-hour fast.

The journey begins on Thursday at 5:00 PM with a "Last Supper" meal. From that moment forward, we enter a period of stillness, reflection, meditation, and fasting. The fast concludes on Sunday at 5:00 PM, when we gather to re-feed and rise together.

Over these four days, something remarkable can happen.

Without the constant demands of digestion, the body begins to reset. Our attention shifts inward. The noise of everyday life softens. We become more aware of the natural clock that has always existed beneath our schedules and obligations.

Many participants report a greater sense of peace, clarity, gratitude, and connection. The fast becomes more than a physical practice—it becomes a way of aligning ourselves with the larger rhythms of nature and the universe.

At the height of the Sun's journey, we are given an opportunity to illuminate our own.

The invitation is simple:

Pause at the center of the cross.

Align with the rhythm of the seasons.

Fast, meditate, reflect, and reconnect.

And then return to the world carrying a little more peace, harmony, and light to share with others.

We invite you to join us for this Summer Solstice Fast.
