Tonight I Turn the Bed to follow Feng [Wind] Shui [Water]

When I bought Ketchum House from Anthony and Mary, I left many things exactly as they were. One of them was the bed. For nearly seven years, its head faced north, untouched, unquestioned.

It felt right for that time.

North is often associated with Earth, stillness, and memory. Looking back, those years were exactly that—slowing down, remembering, healing, listening. Without realizing it, even the way I slept supported a season of inward work.

But something has shifted.

As 2026 approaches, I felt a quiet nudge to make a small change. Not a renovation. Not a reset. Just a turn. I rotated the bed so the head now faces south—traditionally linked with fire, vitality, and forward movement.

And here’s the important part:

I haven’t slept in it yet.

Tonight will be the first night.

There’s no conclusion to share, no result to report. This isn’t about declaring something works. It’s about paying attention. About noticing how subtle choices—often ignored—shape how we rest, dream, and rise.

So I’m sharing this not as advice, but as an invitation.

As we step into 2026, a year many are feeling as a turning point, take a moment to look at your own bed. Which direction do you rest your head?

Does it support reflection, or momentum?

Stillness, or ignition?

Sometimes change doesn’t require effort.

Sometimes it just asks for alignment.

Tonight, I’ll let the night speak first.
