What Is the Significance of “and SIX” in the Emerald Tablets of Thoth?

Every now and then simple wording in an ancient text lights up like a beacon. For me, that word was “and SIX.”
In the Ketchum Verses of the Emerald Tablets—specifically 6:33—Thoth proclaims:
“Name them by name, I, the Seven:THREE, FOUR, FIVE,and SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT—Nine.”
At first glance, the phrasing seems odd. Traditionally, the “and” appears before the final number in a sequence. Yet here, the middle number—SIX—receives the emphasis.
Why?
This is where my discovery began.

Why “and SIX” Stands Out
The placement is deliberate. In mystical traditions, anomalies are invitations—little breadcrumbs left for the seeker.
1. 6 Is a Key Number in Our Journey
If you follow the path of numbers as I have, you’ll notice something interesting:
42, the number of enlightenment, reduces to 4 + 2 = 6
33, the number of liberation, reduces to 3 + 3 = 6
Two of the most powerful spiritual numbers converge at the same point: SIX.
It’s a numerical heartbeat—steady, central, and unavoidable.
2. 6 Reveals the Prison and the Warden
We speak often about the “box” we live in, the illusion that surrounds our daily life. In sacred geometry, that box is literally a six-sided cube—the shape of our physical world, our home, and in many interpretations, our prison.
And who is the warden of this prison?
To answer that, we look again to the Lords and the Chakras.
3. 6 in the Seven Lords & Chakras
When the Seven Lords are mapped to the chakras:
3 aligns with the root chakra → Saturn
6 aligns with Earth, the Heart → the physical realm, the manifested world
9 aligns with the Sun or Crown → the door to escape this realm
Here’s the twist:
Saturn—also Cronos, the god of time—rules the root. Time is the first chain we feel as humans. Birth, aging, deadlines, decay… all within his domain.

If Earth (Lord 6 in this correspondence) represents our physical experience, then the emphasis on SIX becomes a spotlight pointing at the illusion we mistake for reality.
4. The Saturn Hexagon: A Cosmic Signature of Six
Not convinced that Saturn plays a role?
Look at the north pole of the planet.

Unlike Earth’s hurricanes—which spiral in circles—Saturn’s polar storm forms a perfect hexagon. A six-sided vortex. The geometry of the cube made visible in the heavens.
It’s as if the planet itself carries the imprint of the number SIX as a signature, a reminder, a code.

So Why Does Thoth Say “and SIX”?
Because SIX is the key.
The middle of the sequence.
The cube we’re born into.
The final visible planet by the naked eye.
The stage on which our entire lesson unfolds.
By placing the “and” before SIX instead of before NINE—the number of completion—Thoth shifts our attention to where the work actually happens:
Inside the box, not above it.
You don’t escape the cube until you see the cube.
“And SIX” becomes a subtle initiation—almost a whisper:
“Look closely. This is where you are.”
Your Turn
If you’ve explored the Emerald Tablets, numerology, geometry, or the symbolism of Saturn, I’d love to hear your insight.
